Margaret Wilder is an artist living and working in Memphis, Tennessee. Margaret is a certified K-12 visual arts educator. She spends Monday through Friday teaching art at a local Memphis middle school.

 

As a born and raised southerner, Margaret is inspired by the rural scenery encountered throughout her life. As an artist, she seeks to capture these landscapes in graphic and simplified ways instead of simply reproducing them. Due to the simplified nature of her work, Margaret focuses on strong composition and color relationships in order to create an aesthetically pleasing moment that the viewer can imagine themselves in.

 

When Margaret is not painting or teaching you can find her searching thrift stores for unique finds, rearranging the furniture in her home, planning her next vacation with her partner Ryan, or snuggled up with her pup Jane.
